The Colbert Hat Co. Journey
I was raised in southern Oklahoma, where most days were spent riding horses, exploring land on a 4-wheeler, and getting my hands dirty helping around our properties. I was a true tomboy who loved the freedom to roam, and I never went far without being in a cowgirl hat.
Life was simple and boy was it good!
From Horse-Riding Cowgirl to Custom Cowboy Hat Makers
After more than 30 years in retail management I always knew I wanted to start my own store. As luck would have it, my husband’s career moved us to Colorado. We chose Louisville for its small-town charm and proximity to the mountains. Colbert Hat Co was born after a few memorable experiences in hat stores around Colorado.
Trained by second and third generation hat shapers, Glenn and Parker Orms from Hat Masters, we began offering pop ups and private events out of our home. The demand for a physical store front became immediately clear. Realizing how much joy there is in shaping hats and helping people find something that truly feels like them, our simple idea turned into something special: a place where craftsmanship, connections and personal style all come together.
